Local Swimming Area: LLoyds Landing is where Locals go. Right Past the Mayors Park Boat ramp is the local swimming area Lloyds Park and Picnic area. A Kayak launch ramp and swimming platform. Buoyed off lake area for swimmers and Kayaker's. Also has a nice picnic area right on the lake with multi-colored picnic tables in the shade. Be prepared for a ruff 5 mile forest service road, but, it's worth it.

3. Dry Falls, NC: Located in Highlands, NC (The Highest City in the East)
A Beautiful and scenic drive up to Highlands with two overlooks on the way up, leads you to a
Majestic Waterfall
located in a State Park where you can walk behind the water fall. Excellent paved walking trail with stunning Gorge Views.

4. Anna Ruby Falls: Visit twin waterfalls plunging more than 150 feet (tallest) on the paved trail
from the visitor information center. While there take a short walk on the Lion's Eye Trail a short 0.01 mile
paved hiking trail for people who are visually impaired with
interpretive signs in both normal text and braille.

5. Dukes Creek Falls: START of the Chattahoochee River with a moderate hiking trail with Mount Yonah views
leads to this waterfall with a viewing platform.

1. Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens: Hamilton Gardens is home to the largest collection of rhododendrons in the
southeast! Bloom season begins in early April and continues well into May. This botanical garden is open year round and
offers a season view of native plants and trees. The mulched trails take you through the gardens and along the
shoreline of Lake Chatuge. Admission is $5 per person. Located at the top of the Fairground's parking area

2. Brasstown Bald Overlook: Located within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests,
Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia, rising 4,784 feet above sea level and just a short drive
from Hiawassee. On the Bald you’ll find picnic areas with offers a spectacular 360° view of the surrounding area,
including four states (GA, TN, NC, & SC) Viewing Platform, is a very steep 0.6 mile paved foot trail with rest stops
along the way (or you can take the bus).

3. JackRabbit Recreation Area and Trails, NC.: Boasts three (marked Easy, Medium and Hard) hiking trails around a Lake Chatuge Cove. They also have three mountain bike trails labeled easy, medium and professional. Directions from Henson Cove Place: Click Here
4. Chatuge Dam Trail, NC: A paved, 1.5 mile trail, you'll cross over TVA's Chatuge Dam for
fantastic views of Chatuge Lake and the surrounding mountains. Once across the dam, the trail finds
shade as it meanders through stands of trees beside a campground. The trail is open to walkers,
hikers, bikers, and runners. It can be accessed from Clay County Park or Chatuge Dam Road. Clay County Park
offers many amenities including bathroom facilities, fishing access, a playground, pavilions, a ballpark,
camping, and a small sandy beach with a swimming area.

5. Dicks Creek Gap: Part of the Appalachian Trail, Dicks Creek is a AT Trail Entrance with Parking just 5 miles from Henson Cove Place BnB. Directions from Henson Cove: Click Here

1. Bell Mountain Overlook Bell Mountain Overlook is just minutes from Henson Cove BnB. It offers stunning
views of Lake Chatuge on the South Side and the North side you have views of the Tusquitee Mountains in North Carolina.
Also has a 110 stair platform observation deck that overlooks the North.
On rare occasions you can catch some hang gliders launching from the Top of Bell Mountain.

1. Chunky Gals Stables:Named after the mountain, from a Cherokee
legend that you will be riding on.
The owner Rob will take you on a ride through the Nantahala Forest, up to a beautiful Waterfall and back.
Overall the rides about an hour and half of pure nature. Reservations Required, Horse weight limit = 260lbs.

2. TrackRock Stables: Generally we are open every day for 1 hour and 2 hour guided horseback trail rides.
If you would like to make a reservation, you may leave a message for us at 706-745-5252 or you may book your
reservation online at www.trackrock.com Weather permitting, our first ride heads out at 9:15am,
with our last ride going out at 4:00pm. Weight Limit: We have an absolute weight limit of 220 pounds, Appropriate attire is required.

3. Stables at Brasstown Valley:
Featuring five miles of trails, the Stables primarily offers one- and two-hour guided mountain trail rides,
accommodating all experience levels, from beginner to advanced. Guests can meander through open fields,
hardwood forests and crystal-clear trout streams as they travel throughout the property.
Custom excursions, hayrides and catered picnic rides also are available for both individual and group outings.
For ages six-years-old and younger, the Stables offer hand led horseback rides in the facility's riding ring.
Guided Trail Rides by appointment 6 days a week-9am until 2:15 pm, not available on Thursday.

Located minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia. Our horseback riding trails have breathtaking mountain views,
creek crossings, trails alongside lakes, and possible wildlife sightings, with experienced guides that are
family oriented. You will be horseback riding on our 250 acre farm of pristine private land in Mineral Bluff,
Georgia. We are a full service experienced trail riding facility, offering a variety of packages to make
your time in the Appalachian Mountains as memorable as possible.
